Nonprofit Hospice Model

Houston Hospice is the oldest, largest, independent nonprofit hospice in Houston.

Because of community support, we’re able to offer more supplementary services to patients and families. Patients have a choice and they can request Houston Hospice. We are the hospice where mission and the community meet. We have deep community relationships with local health systems, schools, government agencies, churches and clergy, community organizations and other partners. Our bereavement support and volunteer involvement also separate us from for-profit hospices. Houston Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and many private insurance plans.

How is Houston Hospice different from all other hospices?

It is our employees. Every decision made is based on the question, “What is best for the patient at all times?”
