Community Engagement

We are long-standing community partners and believe in civic engagement.

We share information, resources, and ideas with a diverse array of community organizations throughout Houston and tailor to each organization’s unique needs. Our mission in the community is to increase awareness among the general public about hospice as a valuable service and we look for meaningful ways to increase engagement and interaction with organizations in our 13-county service area.

Speakers Bureau

As part of our nonprofit community outreach, Houston Hospice offers free educational talks to religious, civic and educational groups through its Speakers Bureau. Speakers are available to present a wide variety of topics in English, Spanish and Mandarin.

Popular topics include Preserving Memories, How to Talk to Your Doctor, Hospice 101, Compassionate Listening Skills and Medical Care Planning that includes free medical planning kits with Advance Directives and Medical Power of Attorney. Articles and Interviews

Physicians and other staff members are experts in the field of palliative and hospice care. They are available to provide articles for magazines or interview for print, television and radio. To inquire about interviews or request an article, contact Kim Antley.
