Bequests are the most popular type of planned gifts. A bequest may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of an estate or a specific asset. Regardless of the size of your estate, a bequest can be made to a charity of your choosing. Federal Estate Tax Savings – An outright gift to Houston Hospice from your estate, whatever the amount, is entirely free from federal estate taxes. This means Houston Hospice is able to use the full amount of the bequest, whereas if it were left to an individual, a significant amount might go to federal estate taxes. Also, bequests generally are not subject to state inheritance or estate taxes.

Houston Hospice offers the Butterfly Program, a comprehensive program of care services for children.
Family members and caregivers receive services through our Bereavement Programs. Individual counseling and referrals are provided as long as a year after a death. Bereavement support groups are available as long as desired and are open to the community at no charge.
