While most of our patients receive care in their homes, our state-of-the-art inpatient care facility is available when symptom management requires a higher level of care. Connected to the historic Tudor-style Holcombe Mansion, the center is peaceful and home-like designed to meet the needs of patients and their families. Only steps away from the center, free parking is always available on our surface lot. Once inside, guests will find historic quilts adorning the walls of each floor. Wall-mounted placards tell each quilt’s story. The center is carefully maintained to be a welcoming, warm haven and serene place of tranquility, both inside and out. Our beautifully landscaped grounds and garden truly set us apart from all centers in the region. Family members and friends discover a perfect place outdoors for reflection and ideal retreat for young children and pets.

Comfortable family rooms with computers, televisions, books, magazines and board games are located on each of the three floors. Shower and laundry facilities are available for loved ones who spend the night. Nurses’ stations are steps away from each room. The first floor family room has an adjacent courtyard and is near an inviting cafe area with TV, snack and beverage vending machines and coffee. Volunteers on occassion leave baskets of complimentary packaged snacks.

The Houston Hospice gardens are an oasis in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. Families can share a meal at one of the garden picnic tables or in the family dining room. A tranquil water fountain provides another relaxing feature. Stretched out branches from magnificent oak trees reach to manicured grounds, offering shaded cover while blooming azaleas and flowers add color to the garden’s lush grounds and picturesque feel.

All patient rooms are private and spacious with state-of-the-art medical equipment. Rooms are furnished with new beds, sofa sleepers, window benches, recliners, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs.
