Volunteers: Direct Patient and Family Assistance
Volunteer Training
Training: Volunteer Training classes are held several times each year,
primarily at the Houston Hospice - Texas Medical Center, 1905 Holcombe Blvd.,
Houston, TX 77030-4123. The 30 hours of training are required before
volunteers are given patient care assignments. Regular attendance is
required, and exceptions are considered only on an individual basis.
The training course is free for volunteers.
A volunteer must take each of the following topics to
receive the 30 hours of training. However,
non-volunteers may attend a course, but are required to
pay applicable fees. All
attendees must sign up for classes in advance.
