Volunteer Training
The twenty-five hour training is mandatory for all Patient Care Volunteers who will be working in the Patient Care Center, patients’ homes or nursing homes. Attendance at all sessions is preferred; DVDs are available for missed sessions and for a self-study program. For volunteers who will be helping in the office and other non-patient related activities, a short orientation will be scheduled.

Personal death awareness
Grief, loss and bereavement
Pain and symptom control
Family dynamics
Spiritual care
Cultural diversity
Care of the patient
Role of the volunteer
